Alors qu'un futur père de famille, Justin Kemp, se retrouve juré d'un procès pour meurtre très médiatisé, il découvre qu'il est à l'origine de cet acte criminel. Il se retrouve alors face à un dilemme moral majeur pour influencer le jury, et potentiellement, condamner ou libérer l'accusé...
